You're gonna need to watch more than 7 episodes there lupa. Most of the big story stuff comes in two-parters and you're not even up to those yet. And you really, really, really can't judge the series without watching Real Folk Blues.

I do like the little nods to Jazz and Blues the series has. Of what I’ve watched the best moment was Jet telling Spike that he had a dream about Bird telling him to go for it, which was pretty funny considering he was a drug addict that pawned his Saxes to buy heroin. Just shows the makers really do know their stuff about music. I kind of had a bad impression of the show because of all the plebs who would list the OST as a great jazz album and put rainy mood on while it played. It’s good background music for a scene (though like all 90s dubs the audio levels are all out of whack) but as an actual listening piece it’s shit.
One that note I watched a Coltrane documentary today and this Japanese guy built a house just so he could store all his memorabilia. They sure are crazy people.

Can I get a tl;dr explanation on Firefly? How much did it steal? I never watched it because it looked gay.

1. Both ships are similar in how they were renamed and function.
2. Captains are extremely similar.
3. Chinese themes in both.
4. In Outlaw Star, the password for locating the secret thing is "Miranda"; in Firefly, the planet where the secret is located is called "Miranda."
5. In Outlaw Star, Melfina sings "Serenity"; in Firefly, the movie and ship are called "Serenity."
6. Melfina and River are practically almost the same character and function roughly for the same purpose.

Outlaw star is like a not shit guardians of the galaxy, I'm not a huge anime fan but it's one of my favs for sure, even the dub did a pretty good job.
