When Hollywood say they're for diversity, they only care about the superficial form of it, not actual diversity. Star Wars of old had a ton of diversity with all the different aliens you see. Nu-Star Wars is just 80% humans, but the good guys have minorities in them, just to show how "caring" and "open" they are, and not those evil stinking white males. That's like if they have a fantasy setting and you see nothing but minorities and humans and not trolls, goblins or other mythical creatures.

Yeah, it's funny. In RLM's recent discussion of Star Transmitted Disease Mike got unusually SJWy about how Star Trek in the past only took careful "baby steps" towards diversity. Then he kept contradicting his own point and moving the goalposts further and further until it was basically "yeah, they did all that stuff, but they didn't have a black female lesbian captain during the original series!" It was really stupid. Rich Evans was much more based in comparison.

Mike suffers from something a lot of fans in weebshit, rasslin', cape-cummics and vidya suffer from : brand loyalty to the extend of brand loyalty being part of their identity. He's a Trek fanboy so while he hurts that STD is basically a botched remix of Star Wars, Captain Harlock, the plot of Super Robot Wars A and Legend of the Galactic Heroes, he can't not see it, as if out of obligation. And no, I'm not shitting about the sources STDs lifted the material from. It's laughable considering how ST and TNG where a hippie's rendition of great british sci-fi stories and some Twillight Zone episodes, now they steal from nips.

Not necessarily a good comparison, mate. There are plenty of fantasy settings with strong humanocentrism, either because the setting tries to be a bit more "realistic" (like Lame of Thrones), or because it's a sword & sorcery pulp setting (where magic, monsters and non-humans tend to be rare, very dangerous and more often than not ancient or downright primordial).
