Jon said it was likely not promoted well and that Convulse was initially supposed to be the pre-band but jumped off due to low sales.

You may know Convulse from their excellent World Without God album and then nothing but utter shit after that.

They tried to get some local band to fill in but couldn't find one either. One dude mentioned that two other Death Metal concerts were also taking place today near Hamburg but I don't remember the bands mentioned so I don't know if that was a draw.
Sunday isn't exactly ideal but I would've thought that a massive city like Hamburg would provide a few more randos.

But hey, great show, great set, absolutely amazing sound and, as Jon McEntee said, Incantation only have an on or off switch. They were just as good and motivated as they are at a packed venue.

I actually found a store to pick up some LP I didn't think I'd get from a shop anymore. I didn't even search for it but for something else entirely and they just so happened to have a single issue in stock that was shown via some "you may also like" functionality.

Also, Metallica sperg post is coming next week. I've finally caught up and made enough notes to do it and never ever mention them ever again.

Oh I haven't listened to anything past that either, besides the last music video when they released another stinker last year or so. Thats not what I've been catching up to.

I've listened to absolute loads of Thrash from around their strongest time and specifically around Justice. I want to make the point that Justice was already a pile of shit and how absolutely obliterated and ass Metallica was even back then compared to their peers.

Metallica has aways been thrash for the radio. Slayer and Anthrax are arguably better if you want to compare similar stadium acts. There are a lot of better thrash bands in the eighties and early nineties. I'll take smaller groups like Sacred Reich or Voivod, etc. any day of the week.

Slayer is the only "big four" band that was actually good. Anthrax was passable at best and Megadeth is unlistenable thanks to Mudstain sounding absolutely retarded.

Metallica would be a tighter band if James fired Lars after St. Anger and replaced Grandma Kirk when he started fucking up every convert. The drumming is so ass for a Thrash band. Cliff definitely was the one to keep the band on time 'cause Lars sure as hell can't.

I didn't even consider Anthrax as part of the big 4. I thought that Motorhead were in there, but i guess they are rather pioneers.
