It really wasn't bad, especially compared to Cyberjunk 1488 that came out more or less at the same time.
The setting and the writing were fine, with each faction and race being as shitty as the others and fighting exclusively over dominance.
I even remember the lore in the in-game codex claiming that humans' distrust for each other is genetic, with the (likely involuntary) implication that the other alien races tend to trust their own people more because they all look the same.
All the races were also flawed and corrupt, with the top dogs being a group of ultra logical, ultra advanced obese fish-people who smell like shit and don't care because they have no nostrils.
I'll have to play the whole thing to see if the only flaw in the writing is the digital assistant trying to be le quirky, or if things gets worse from there.

I doubt anything in the game will be worse than hearing Keanu Reeves saying "peeps" without a hint of irony.

I've reinstalled the game, and the line in the lore is "a genetic disposition to be suspicious of the other" and that humans are the most diverse species, so it's clearly saying that racism is genetic and it doesn't happen much in other alien species because they all look alike.

The war between the Hutu and the Tutsi happened basically because a tribe was shorter and darker than the other.
The alien races in the game aren't supposed to be blacks or Asians, just aliens.

That's just lazy sci-fi worldbuilding. Other alien species should be just as diverse as we are, probably even more if they've indulged in genetic modification, and/or have colonized planets with different levels of gravity.
Next you're telling me the humans make for good diplomats, like in Star Trek or pretty much every sci-fi 4X game. Any sci-fi realist knows that humans in space would be like the Ferengi.

No they are described as the perfect corporate slaves because they are average/weak in everything, they are the most numerous and their lifespan is the shortest, so their children will adapt better to the life in a shithole simply because they'll never know any better.
And robots (also in the game) haven't replaced them as generic workers because the only type of cost-effective robot to produce is one which performs a single, ultra specialized task.
Humans are basically Elon's pajeets, and the Musk and the Soros are those obese fish-men i mentioned before, because their brains and tech are simply superior.
There is a Ferenghi-like race (the Jachalans), who have ultra developed taste and smell and so they are the best chefs and drug manufacturers, and they are sleazy and lie a lot.

The other races are also violent warmongers like the humans, no exceptions.
No one is presented as "morally superior" or shit like that, just "this race and that race are in power because they won the genetic lottery somewhere, and took advantage of it".
The corporations' management was also mostly human at some point according to the lore, and the fat fish-people replaced them gradually.
There are also races that are more cucked and handicapped than the humans, in particular a race that requires life support suits just to stay alive, and to cope with it they created a cuck religion about being grateful for being alive, and they call their butthurt dissenters "ungrateful".
