Modiphius is getting
weird.
So they do have a few original products in their catalogue (one will become slightly important in a bit), but what they're most famous for is releasing RPG adaptations of various IPs, all done with their in-house
2d20 system (basically a very limited dice pool system with quite a few influences from Fate, if that makes any sense).
- Conan? Used to be their flagship title, but the license has recently expired

- Dishonored? That's also a thing. Does anyone care about Dishonored these days?
- Dune? You bet they have it.
- Homeworld? Sure, why not at this point?
- Fallout? It even accurately emulated the tendency of Bethesda games to be broken at launch!
- Star Trek? Pretty alright, but they've kinda run out of good Trek to write about. I sure hope you like buying an entire hardcover book dedicated to Lower Fucking Decks.
Now recently they appear to be pushing for more original content, and what content it is.
Dreams and Machines
I can almost guarantee this started as a
Horizon Zero Dawn adaptation before they failed to acquire the license, cause the general is pretty much the same (a post-apocalyptic setting where our diverse heroes are fighting against robot monsters or something).
I'm not sure there's enough interest for them to sell their super-deluxe preorder package. Who needs "equipment cards"? Gear in this 2d20 system doesn't really take up a whole of of space stats-wise.
Cohors Cthulhu
So this is a spinoff of their
Acthung! Cthulhu line, some pulp RPG about shooting Nazis
and Shoggoths. It's so old it originally started as a Savage Worlds settings (which is slightly weird since Savage Worlds has its own
Weird War setting which does the same thing except with less copy-pasting from the public domain). Instead of being set in WWII, this is set during the Roman Empire.
Now
this upcoming RPG raised a few alarm bells, since it was being touted as being "progressive".
So you have art of a black female legionary (legionarette?).
And example characters that have their pronouns listed (including a bard with the always helpful pronouns "they/he/she").
They
are aware that the Romans, using modern sensibilities, are slavemongering colonizers, right?
Also I hope they will showcase the rich ethnical diversity of 200 AD Germania.
BrikWars
This is just bizarre, honestly.
In case you've never heard of BrikWars, it's a set of free wargaming rules for using Lego minifigs and vehicles built with legos. It has existed in one form or another for almost
30 years now.
But now they're aiming for a
physical release, published by Modiphius. Are you
trying to get sued by Lego or something?
Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.
