I think it's the new wolfenstein shit.

I'm still salty they have the nerve to call it wolfenstein 2. Even within the reboot universe, it's hardly the second game. They did that whole stand-alone DLC shit already. Far as I'm concerned, that was their second game in this line.

I played the first game and would describe it as pretty mediocre or ok. The story didn't really mesh with the gameplay in any way. The gameplay was looney tunes, but the story was Man in the High Castle. The gameplay also wasn't quite crazy enough considering how it was billed. Dual-wielding assault rifles was in, but you got so fucking little ammo that you couldn't reasonably spray bullets in the way you might expect from this type of game. I found double weapons rather pointless as they used up too much ammo.

Sadly, you often ended up falling into the same trap of stealth cover shooting as the new day of sex games or a typical FPS made in current year. Because of the ammo concerns.

Oh, and enemies that summon reinforcements if you don't take them out with stealth is a mechanic that seems completely at odds with who BJ is supposed to be, as well as what is actually FUN in an FPS. This wouldn't have been a problem if ammo was more plentiful, but it isn't.

DHI being overdramatic pussies as always when it comes to new AAA shit. But putting that aside, I felt like I was the only concerned person when I saw the trailers of the new Wolfenstein. I loved NWO and the expansion, but new one seemed like it has a different mood completely, and focuses instead more on "diversity" and "quirky characters". I hate that sassy nigger woman. However, to me, the bigger kick in the nuts to me was that the gameplay seems to be like doom now, more arenas and more shooting than ever - and I don't want to play another doom.

Because of these warning signs, I haven't purchased it yet, and instead, I'll watch some gameplay and then I'll decide, but I am concerned that I won't like it nowhere near as much as NWO.

Also, I disagree that NWO was trying to be too serious. It walked a fine line between crazy 80's action movie and somewhat serious story - the characters are taking stuff seriously, which is something I don't mind. Nothing can take me out of a movie or a game faster than a character that's ignoring everything happening around them. The game itself overall wasn't playing it too seriously and that's what I've liked about it so much, that they kept it kinda subtle, which nowdays is almost unheard of.

I don't remember that being an issue, ever - and I've finished it on uber with and without stealth - which was another fantastic thing, both approaches were fun.

Why can't they like make a Metal-Wolf-Chaos style game where you play as the minigun-wielding animated statue of Abe Lincoln fighting Hitler whose brain has been transplanted into a robot T-Rex? You now, just simple fun.

And speaking of something entirely different, I've finally finished Dragon's Dogma - what a weird game! I really like it, but there are also plenty of things I've hated. Clearly, the gameplay is king, but the game is also quite awkward even regarding that. If the combat wasn't quite satisfying, I don't think I would've finished the game, because it kinda is a mess. I haven't played the expansion yet, since I've assumed I can do it after I finish the main story, and well, now I'm playing new game plus because of that.

Which isn't bad, because I think there is a plenty of content I haven't explored yet anyways - I was initially surprised that the game isn't bigger, since I've made the mistake of listening to Petrified Pedro and him comparing it to Skyrim, which is bullshit, it's much smaller, but it still takes quite a long time to get through. There is some backtracking that's fortunately not terrible, but also a lot of unnecessery walking around the same boring areas, so I've ended up using teleportation quite a lot, especially towards the end. That's undestandable though.

Some thoughs from the journey:
  • Super awkward presentation - any time my character was in a cutscene, his dumb absent minded look was making me laugh. Most of the cutscenes play like Ride to Retribution, just no timing, awful dialogue and acting. It's like a shitty anime - fortunately, there are some decent moments and ideas that I was willing to give a chance. But the story is shit, and especially the final conclusion "why anything is even happening in the first place" makes no sense.
  • Characters and skill trees are the life and blood of this game. I was super impressed how many cool moves the game offered and how much variety was there. It puts most of the other games to shame and it's easily the best part of it. Overall, the progression of my character was the most enjoyable part of the game.
  • Pawns are a great idea, but also quite flawed. They don't shut up unless you mute them, which I didn't wanted to do, but they kept repeating the same things, like basic tutorials etc. - this is where games like Dragon Age: Inquisition are so much better, because the party banter simply is much more personal. And since pawns don't have personality, you need to create it yourself, and craft their little stories, which is not bad, but it's a shame they couldn't give them a bit more fleshed out personalities. And I also couldn't really figure out how to make them utilize some of the more advanced skills, especially those that require two characters, but it's possibly something that needs more time and experimentation.
  • Traveling the world was good, but it got quite annoying towards the end, because I constantly had to return with materials. The game puts a big emphasis on upgrading items, but then artificially increases the game time by forcing me to do this. And healing items weight so much - I realize this was probably done for balance purposes, but it pissed me off. Let me bring healing stuff with me without weighting me down so much!
  • Quests were serviceable, but most of them forgetable as well, I would say one a level of an MMO, plenty of loose ends where I've felt like they perhaps had more ambitious plans, but couldn't do more due to time and budget constrains. I was happy that there was a lot of attention to detail, like characters having something to say about most of the stuff I did in the world, which is something fucking Bethesda couldn't do despite their boasting with Skyrim.
  • Decent music, if a bit cliched, rest of the presentation just isn't very good, but the game originally released in 2011, so that's excusable. Unfortunately it doesn't help with the repetitiveness, especially with doing some of the side quests I've marched around the map over and over, and most of the locations are absolutely sterile. Just imagine it looking like Witcher 3 to be feast for the eyes as well, and I couldn't ask for more regarding the graphics.
  • Despite me not being impressed with the story and especially the ending at all, it had few moments that I though were really good. And I loved the little nods towards the pawns that I've spend most of the time at the very end.
I was a bit dissapointed that I didn't get to fight some of the bigger monsters until last few hours, but I guess that's going to improve in the new game plus, and in the expansion. At least I hope so.
This game needs a sequel, and it doesn't even have to be sequel to begin with. Just take the fantastic class and pawn systems and add bigger world, make it more like a Witcher without some of the western fantasy bullshit, and some of the kinda anime nonsense. More space for the pawns and a bit more complex controls for them - unlike Dragon Age, because in this game you actually get really cools skills to use, plenty of times I would've appreciated more control over the battle.

That's what you get when you try to mix Berserk with Monster Hunter. Pretty rad but Itsuno needs to iron out a lot of kinks, something that Capcom of course didn't even bother doing for the PS4-re-release. Just like when the idea of DMC4 was "let's remake the Orihime retrieval arc, except put Uncle Dante in it because I want more gameplay goodies". It's a shame Capcom doesn't allow them to go crazier with dixing their stuff or giving them more budget.

If we're lucky, and the buyout rumours are true, it's SEGA who gets them so we can finally have some more Yakuza and DMC on the table.

Oh yeah, that main character. It's like he's mentally challenged or something. But it makes sense, I guess. I mean, Spoony is the prime example of what happens to your mental state if your heart gets ripped out by a red dragon.

And one of my favorite moments was getting that hydra head to the capital, because literally everything was out for your blood.

And you coming in for damage control for AAA games as always. The game is single player only, is only 6-7 hours long with half of it being fucking cutscenes and they are charging full price. The first game was 11 hours and from what I have seen it has about 1 hour LESS cut scenes despite being longer. Fuck the shills who promoted this crap, when I saw a cut scene in a review with an army of black people in the bunker playing for a second I knew something was up here. And the main black woman having an afro? Why the fuck do these SJWs give their STRONK BLACK WOMYM character a fucking afro all the time in games? It's like they have never seen a black person in their majority white neighbourhoods they live in.

It's heavy on the SJW shit it seems when the first game wasn't, it is way shorter because they want to fuck you with DLC and yet has more cut scene bullshit. This game wants to be a movie so damn bad, the first game was ok but this one looks way worse.

You forgot Uncharted 4, which is slightly more subtle:

and Sunset:

The fact that Japan has more diverse looking black characters now is a fucking disgrace since many Japanese people have never seen a black person in real life. Yet again, neither have SJWs.

I love how they think they're doing black people a favor by reusing the same afro stereotype over and over again. If you're that obsessed with racial hairstyles, try to mix it up with the occasional dreadlocks.
