This isn't even available in print form. There's no reason why they couldn't split these up into individual PDFs (aside from the writers who did the D&D and D&D-compatible adventures propping up the writers for shit like Electric Bastionland which no one plays).

Nobody cares. This is a tabletop RPG, and there's a reason why effectively all of them follow the D&D philosophy of "... and here's the 'Common Tongue' which literally everyone in this setting speaks". Nobody wants to figure out who can understand whom to what degree.

I just hope the Design Mechanism survives this relatively uncancelled. They're one of the few tabletop gayming companies left that are free of polidicks, especially in the land of the d100 system where Chaosium is getting woker by the year*.

*) They've been subtly removing white people from Glorantha, the newest iteration of the popular Mask of Nyarlathotep campaign for Call of Cthulhu has gotten a couple race-swaps to be less "problematic", and who knows how many black and/or female knights of Camelot there will be in the planned new edition of Pendragon (the Arthurian RPG to end all Arthurian RPGs).
And as I've mentioned earlier in this thread, their version of the OGL is a complete joke that prohibits you from making stuff based on King Arthur and other public domain shit they've already done themselves.

So I've got a more recent, boring one and an older funnier one.

One D&D

Diversity marches on as D&D will shed its most problematic of problems in the upcoming 2024 anniversary edition: "race" is now "species".
Never mind that your elves, dwarves and orcs have always been "species" and D&D - as well as everyon copying it - used "race" because it sounded like a more "authentic" term for fantasy middle ages. There have even been games that remind people that they actually mean "species" when they're using "race", but I guess that won't fly in Current Year.
Never mind that other games have already switched to stuff like "ancestry" or "kin" that are a lot more thematic to your typical fantasy setting than the dry, scientific "species". I bet Wizards went with "species" out of spite because the better alternatives have already been implemented by someone else.

And of course it's still not enough :roll: They're also having some odd plans regarding this new edition which seem like the same kinds of mistakes that caused 4e to fail:
  • No OGL. They want the DM's Guild to be the exclusive entry for 3rd party products, which primarily benefits Wizards themselves because they get a share of the profit. Oh those 3rd party products will most likely also fall under the jurisdiction of the upcoming cabal of SJW inquisitors who have to give the final stamp of approval on any product.
    Note that having shittier licensing options was what lead 3rd party companies to ignore 4e and make their own D&D, the most successful being Pathfinder which was just 3.X with a different coat of paint.
  • An online subscription service with a virtual tabletop. Back in 4e they've made some crazy promises including a 3D character builder and a virtual 3D tabletop extravaganza. Those never came to be due to not having the technical know-how, so all that remained was an automated character sheet.
    Now this time around they are taking care of getting the know-how by throwing a lot more money at the problem and hiring lots of former Microsoft employees.
    One thing that sounds a bit weird is how they want to automate everything to the point you can use their virtual tabletop to solve rules discussions due to how authentic the game rules will be implemented. That will probably just be used to "confirm" goofy shit, like how back in 3.X drowning would set your HP to 0 so you could actually save someone who's gone far into the negatives by dunking his head into water.

In an alternate history version of the 1980s, the USA are run by a fascist regime, and it is up to magical Antifa cyborgs powered by magical radio signals to lead la resistance.
Now you might think this is some cope RPG born from Trump Derangement Syndrome, and to a certain degree this is probably true. But what this actually is is an excuse for the writer to autistically sperg about 80s radios and his manifesto on ethical terrorism.
At least the writer is a bit less batshit than other "revolutionaries", since he's quite open about the revolution needing tard wranglers to keep the less mentally-gifted members from fucking up their optics ("For the last time, guys: Not every male Asian is Andy Ngo!").
The setting on the other hand is a bit meh and nonsensical in terms of cyberpunk, though I got a slight chuckle out of a US bank proudly advertising that it is backed 100% by Nazi gold.

Sadly it seems recent updates on the project focus on some new edition that focuses more on the cyberpunk setting than a spergy manifesto - but fear not! The spirit of the original lives on for free in Bombs & Balaclavas, the came where you can play ISIS - except plz don't do that, okay? This is only about ethical terrorists like, I dunno, Kurds?

Transspecies people are real, dammit.
They might also use their patented SJW logic: If orcs are black people, and orcs are considered an entirely different species, does that mean Wizards of the Coast believes that black people are not human?

The "biological" bit might also go against their grand goal of having all races be the same (aka no stat modifiers for anyone). Calling them "species" might highlight that there are biological differences.
Not that they have to worry about it. Stat modifiers for your race won't even be a thing in the new corebook (they're already not a thing in many current publications; just slap those +2s wherever the fuck you want). They use "backgrounds" instead for that (which hilariously enough limits your character choices because every warrior-type will want to have the Soldier background, or whichever else adds to Strength).

You can, but that won't stop hacks like Evil Hat Productions from prefacing their books with "If you're not as SJW as we are, you're not allowed to play this", as if that had any power IRL.
The "problem" of limitless options is probably why Wizards is trying to turn D&D into a glorified video game, and why hack writers love the Apocalypse World system so much (you're class-equivalent comes with a built-in story arc, as well as a limited set of actions you are allowed to do; can't play as Right-Wing Death Squads if you only attack is "Bash the Fash" - or at least that's what the writers think).
