Dishonored. Yeah I know it's Bethesda but I love the attention to detail like the head rolling and such. Plus the dialogue doesn't sound as stilted as Fallout or Oblivion but I might be missing something. I'm down in the sewers rn and I might have to start over because the achievements didn't save.

Dishonored is actually good and it's not made by Bugthesda, only published by them. It's made by Arkane Studios, who also made nuPrey. NuPrey is solid too. I know people here shit on it, but it's fine. Arkane have made a bad game or two, but Dishonored 1 is probably their best.

The only flaw with Dishonored 1 is it lacks options for nonlethal takedowns. You have one weapon and a chokehold and that's it. I recommend a first playthrough lethal and second playthrough nonlethal, unless you're okay with doing a ton of saveloading and using the same two weapons over and over (blink->chokehold and tranq darts.)

Bionic Commando Rearmed is also excellent. The remixed soundtrack alone is a masterpiece.
Don't confuse it with the 3D BC that came out that same year, which is pretty bad.

I think 3d bionic commando might be my first game from the series that I played. I played it years ago. It could have been a good game with a little tweaking, but its story is hilariously awful and the radiation zones taint the gameplay.

I've looked at some footage for Rearmed and Rearmed 2, but some aspects of those games annoy me. Namely the bosses. They appear to be entirely phase-based and patternized, which game boy BC is not. GB Bionic Commando is all about reaching the objective, not unscrewing bolts slowly in threes from a giant dump truck robot.

I played arcade bionic commando... Actually, that might have been my first exposure to the series. That game is complete horseshit. Far more unfair than any ghosts and goblins or IWBTG.

I remember Dishonored being a lot of fun. The second game is ok, but felt much worse - there is only one really stand out level in it, the "hauted house" of sorts. It's not bad, but it somehow felt like less than before.

Currently going insane trying to play Median XL mod for Diablo 2. It would be great, if it wasn't so insanely difficult and without a guide, you could spend hundreds of hours just trying to figure out absurd shit. Right now, I'm just reading stuff some fools who did spend hundreds of hours playing the game then wrote down, and trying to stay sane. There is a lot of new content to play, but just crazy difficult.

I also just got Terminator: Resistance, it was in a nice big discount on steam, it looked pretty decent.

I've only played the first Rearmed. The bosses aren't really the pull of the game, rather it's the levels that eventually get very difficult.

I've never heard about that Median XL mod. I guess I'll check it out.

Fantastic choice. Yeah it’s a lot of fun, I like the verticality and open setting of each level, my advice would be to play in many different ways. Do like tictac said and try a non lethal (it’s not too bad, I got it easy enough) and then have a playthrough where you rampage, pistol, gun, traps, powers. The rat swarm and the spring razor trap are freaking brutally awesome and I love them despite me usually taking the sneaky/non lethal approach. Stopping time to redirect a bullet is also hilarious, despite me not using it much. Only flaw it has that 2 fixed is lack of a new game plus, I wanted to go through full powered.

It's ok just about until you get to "Hell" Hell, I would say - you level up differently and very quickly compared to the original. Then the actual mod content starts showing up and it gets really, really impossible without proper guides on synergies etc. All the classes have been remade, which isn't a problem for me, because I never went with any specific builds I would remember from the original game.

The mod adds a lot and it's good, not too overwhelming, but it requires a lot of attention initially. You will be looking at guides for a while for sure.

Been playing the LA Noire remake for PS4. Its been so long that I've forgotten most of the scenarios so I actually have to use my brain. Only weird thing is instead of X to doubt, you play bad cop.

Also, finished Super Mario 3D All Stars. Not bad. My son got really into Mario 64, he likes doing the slide races since he's only one and hasn't figured out how to time punching or jumping on Goombas just yet.
