Do you mean introduction of romances and stupid drama with the companions or popularizing RTwP combat?

Introducing romance is the biggest sin of BG2, BG1 had very little of content with the companions. BG2 still has a lot of great stuff, especially many combat encounters and fights with wizards, who actually use protection spells and you have to peel them off. Especially with SCS etc mods.
