While you guys complain about SWERY and his SJW tantrums, I'm here playing one of imageepoch's last games, 7th Dragon 2020-II on the PSP, from the guy that the Yakuza hunted for 2 years before making a new gaming studio.
Isn't that one of those 7th Dragon entries with...

The music suddenly changes to a semi-acapella version of the original soundtrack and you can hear singing that is a bit unnatural. The voice is Hatsune Miku's  You are basically saving Miku-chan from dragons and she thanks you for that. During that area, all the music is replaced by the Miku versions of the song and instead of the abrupt transitons of music with the restarting of a melody etc, Miku instead switches from song to song almost as if an actual musician would in that situation and the crazy thing is that you can hear it, as if they programmed all the loops and scenarions for that. Guess now I know why the games asks for 900+ megabytes of install data beforehand.

After you rescue Miku-chan though, you have the option to unlock DIVA mode. Basically, you construct a concerto room for Miku and once there, she thanks you and tells you that she will support you with all her love. What this does is that it unlocks DIVA mode on the options menu : DIVA mode replaces each and every single song in the entire game, all 60+ songs with Miku versions of the song, where she sings them. That's not all. If you play the game with her songs, the monsters somehow tend to miss a bit more because the in-game and story explanation is that "the monsters hearts seem to have calmed from the melody". HOLY SHIT! You basically can quell the Dragon menace by having Miku sing to help you.

Oh yeah, you also get a new class in this game called "Idol" that basically uses cheers and songs as buffs, all-out attacks etc and some of the songs are references to some of the Vocaloid original songs AFAIK. I haven't meddled much with Idol since my team of Samurai, Trickster and Psychic are doing fine and I want some more levels before I start leveling my hackers and my destroyers.

Basically Samurai = Warrior / Fighter, Destroyer = Monk / Martial Artist, Trickster = Assassin / Ranger / Strider but with guns and gun-fu, Hacker = Buufer&Debufer class, Psychic = Mage with elemental and healing spells.

Dunno about the technical aspects of this, but if this game included a custom version of Vocaloid like Peace Walker did, Miku-chan might've indeed been able to switch song vocals dynamically on the fly. SCIENCE!

I'm pretty sure that's close to what happened because even with games that have very heavy install datas on the PSP, the MP3 portion of the install data is miniscule so it stands to reason that part of the 900+mb is indeed a custom version of Vocaloid, if only a bit more advanced that Peace Walker's, due to coming out 2 to 3(?) full years after that. Because while the jump in quality between the first and second game isn't much, the jump in the install data size is magnitudes bigger which is otherwise unnatural.

They might've gotten some help from Crypton themselves. They've been working for years on some custom stuff to let them control Miku in real-time.

Very possible, it is a Sega published game after all and during the PSP era, SONY, SEGA and Bandai fiddled with the software to further the musical capabilities and programming of the games, with help from Crypton at least once and it helps that SEGA had a tight relationship with them, given they publshed and bankrolled the Project Diva games along with helping them with software(UMD) troubleshooting and programming at the time. t also helps as imageepoch did BlackRockShooter as well so that was probably a plus in Crypton's eyes, given who BRS is supposed to be, even f the character technically belongs to huke.
Too bad nobody in the industry wants to delve into these levels of amazing technical autism regarding hardwares and softwares. Gotta get them gachas.

If you like how SaGa 1 played on the Game Boy, you'll love 7th Dragon 2020 as well. You basically "create" your party, a party of 12 characters(you can only go out in squads of 3 though) with distinct voices, appearances by Shirow Miwa and classes that you can mix and match. It's not unlike how SaGa did it where your entire party is created characters without a set main character in a speaking role. Each character also has two alternative colours, so there's that and you can create a sexy redhead or a chocolate godess out of the same character model if you so choose.

Almost the same deal as the second PSP 7 faggon, except without Miku and probably just prettier graphics. So the usual deal that several JRPGs that were crossgen between the PSP and the 3DS got. The second / third game on the series being exclusively on the 3DS was usually the weakest. It's not bad but it has lost some of its gameplay edge by streamlining some classes, losing some of its unique artwork, the story is more about saviours etc. As a game overall it's pretty ok. It has a bit more in common with Etrian Odyssey this time rather than SaGa though, dunno why.

It’s a sequel and prequel, think the present/past segments of True Detective if you ever saw that. It opens with this bitch nigress interrogating York who is only in his 40s but a balding weird corpse with gross hair and a brain tumor who’s toking 24/7. It’s an insult to the original. Fuck Swery.
Does Swery secretly hate Zack for some reason? What the absolute fuck was he thinking?
He should be forced to eat a thousand sinner's sandwiches in a row.
