I started playing ZHP: Unlosing Ranger vs Darkdeath Evilman. It's a parody game from NIS that reminds me a lot of Special Project Shinesman. It's a parody of superhero games and stories. But the gameplay is a proper roguelike, similar to Shiren the Wanderer or the mystery dungeon games. It's a lot funnier than the typical NIS games. Maybe the conceit is just more appealing.

I can only assume whoever wrote this at NI really digs toku- and capeshit and/or was really glad he could do something other than fantasy JRPG parodies for once.

It's turn based just like shiren and the more traditional roguelikes. There's a lot of positioning and attacking the air to make turns pass and shit.
