An all-cripple party can be the Lodoss War for modern audiences.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 9:40 pmMeta gaming the system resulting with everyone ending up being a blind, deaf-mute cripple nigger for min-maxing purposes would be the ultimate troll move if those games weren't absolute shit that nobody plays to begin with.
Hate the wheelchair character, not the person.Le Redditeur wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 10:37 pmThe only correct reaction to a wheelchair person on your tabletop gaming group:

Remember the nerdy cripple kid from Elm Street 3 who was into D&D and in a wheelchair? When he got his dream powers he was not only a wizard but could walk. Why do I suspect the only people who want to be wheelchair bound can walk and have some cripple fetish?

If I'm a crippled wizard, you can bet your ass that a spider mech or exosuit armor construct will just be a stepping stone on my way to transform myself into some kind of centaur monster.

I wouldn't trust a guy casting healing spells that can't even fix his spine.

Wheelchair fetishists already have plenty of excuses/justifications for that:Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Sat May 24, 2025 3:26 pmI wouldn't trust a guy casting healing spells that can't even fix his spine.
- What if my character doesn't want to get fixed? (This is the clearest sign you're dealing with a cripple fetishist)
- What if my character was born this way? (Kill him and cast Reincarnation, and that's not even going into how rules for birth defects are generally as non-existent as rules for getting crippled in-game)
- What if the only spell that can fix my character is of such a high level that only the 5 richest kings could afford them? (Congrats, now you're indebted to some shady NPC. And that's not even going into how money is pretty much useless for high-level 5e characters, so some high-level Cleric NPC could always decide to heal people for free. You'd think these commies would hate having to pay for spellcasting services.)

I'd imagine that even in a feudal world with magic a cripple would get healed by that high cleric in the king's employ for free. A working pesant will bring in value that makes it worth it. A crippled beggar is a drain on society.
Not to mention that it would be an easy way to gain popularity. Very unpopular kings tend to get themselves killed.

Make an entire church of commie Clerics who don't believe in spell component capitalism.
