Are you talking about whether it's legit in telling you if a game is good or bad or legit as in whether it's counting the review numbers right?

Because obviously it's no more accurate in telling you whether a game is good or bad than game reviews in general, but the comment was that the reviews were saying the game was bad. But the reviews, as far as I can tell, seem to actually mostly be positive. Maybe the really early ones were more negative and as more came out, they were more positive.

They basically been on a downards trajectory since the 3rd game, when they basically followed the Leprechaun school of sequels by making everything stupider with each new entry.
Fans would've probably been fine with a reboot going back to the style of Saints Row 2.

Saints Row 4 was decent IF you wanted a(nother) sequel to Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. It's not as good as Prototype or Hulk and it's full of shitty memes. But it is a superhero sandbox game. So some might like it.

Gat Out of Hell was just inexcusable. Saints Row 4 was already a total asset reuse of SR3. Sold for something like $40. Then Gat Out of Hell comes along and just reuses all the same assets again, with an ugly as fuck red filter slapped over everything, some generic demon skins replacing npcs/soldiers and the exact same gameplay, activities and sandbox shit from SR4. Which was itself largely cribbed from SR3.

Saints Row 3 was the last Saints Row game to have its own assets and level design. They milked those assets for three games (Gat was stand-alone) and then they pumped out some wokeshit to "revive" the franchise.

In my book, the only Saints Row game that stands the test of time is 2.

The long-forgotten flop "Agents of Mayhem" should've been Volition's first red flag. Their downward trajectory was inevitable, given the current_year zeitgeist of post-2016 TDS. Best to let the IP stay dead permanently.
