They were. But I know I never paid new price for any of them, as a kid. I would buy them on ebay in the dial-up years and I'd pay about $30. I think I paid $10 at a shop for Mario 64.

I've never bought one. Gameboy games was doable but I could've never afforded a SNES game. That was Christmas/Birthday stuff.

To be fair, most of the games we got as kids were Christmas/Birthdays. I just remember saving up a few times as well for $30 used snes games.
