The reason why he went with Reddit defense is precisely because he couldn't use Apollo's public statement. This is from my understanding of everything and not from watching Apollo Legend's videos.

Apollo only said that Mitchell and him reached a settlement and he was removing all videos of Mitchell's as part of the agreement. Apollo never said whether he owed Mitchell any money. So Jobst couldn't use that but the reddit post did say that Apollo paid a lot of money to Mitchell. Jobst wanting to run Mitchell's reputation into the ground so used that post since it would help him. One teeny problem came up during the trial thanks to court records. Turns out the settlement was Apollo didn't need to pay any money as long as he stops making videos on Mitchell. Second he does nullifies the settlement. So that removes the motive of suicide due to being financially ruined by Mitchell. Strike one against Jobst.

Next issue with blaming Mitchell for the suicide. Apollo made a video prior to his suicide announcing his intent to do so. He never mentioned Mitchell in it but named 2 other people as the reason. One of them a buddy of Jobst himself. So strike 2 with malicious intent due to not watching Apollo's video.

I know some faggots will say he retracted the statement. While technically true that he removed the suicide accusation from his Twitter and issued a retraction. It was in the most sneaky way possible. First he kept the accusation in his video. Then He issued the retraction in a video about Dark Souls, completely unrelated to Mitchell, which most reasonable people will miss. Which is why the judge didn't buy it as a proper retraction. So strike 3 for not understanding what a proper retraction is.

Still my favorite part is Jobst getting hit with aggravated damages because he was taunting Mitchell saying he would make videos until the end of time about him. Now he is going to be known as the only guy to give Mitchell his first win in court till the end of time. Enjoy paying up to the real alpha male, pickup artist.

The actual reason he offed himself was because he ruined his reputation by completely blundering the convention he was planning. More specifically raising money for it, announcing a venue but never actually following through with those plans.

The venue didn't even know a convention was supposedly planned. The date came closer and he completely dipped.
