Wonder Woman 84 sort of exposed the shit out of their shitty opinions for me. For years they've dumped on DC movies saying they want them to be cheesy and like the Richard Donner Superman movies. Then for some reason Warner Bros actually decides to make a movie like this and RLM predictably shits on it. In the end they don't really have a clue what they want. They just want to be hipsters and shit on everything. Their whole schtick is pretty much just being Gen X burnouts who are 2cool.

Their whole gimmick has been wearing thin with me for a while now. They try to have their cake and eat it too by making fun of consumers and big budget hollywood blockbusters, while simultaneously devoting their entire lives to those things. Listen fellas, no one believes it when you pretend to not remember characters names in an attempt to look like less of a nerd.

I think I mentioned in the past that Jay, Mike and Rich can discuss TNG episodes in any random order without mentioning the title, season or episode number and they all know what each other are talking about. They can pretend they're not consoomers, but they are. They also produce a steady diet of videos for their own fans to consoom.

Jay is an arthouse bitch who wants DEEP PLOTS and obscure references to independent literature for him to feel smart about.
As far as I can tell, Mike wants simple stories to be told simply, without a lot of effects or directorial wankery.
Rich Evans wants a time machine so he can go back and watch every episode and movie of Star Trek for the first time again.
AIDSmoby wants a dick in his asshole.
I don't know or care what the rest want.

Most critics don't know exactly what they want. It's not the worst crime in the world. "Make it gooder" isn't very helpful as a criticism, however.



Here's a good episode if you want to prove Mike and Jay as hackfrauds. This movie was fucking awful and they liked it. Goes to my point about Mike not really giving a shit about "quality" as much as he prefers a story being uncomplicated, even if it's also fucking retarded. Or maybe Del Toro's name starstruck the two of them.

I've only seen two people who think that WW84 is a great movie. Grace Randolph and now Salmonella. It's getting bad reviews from all over. I didn't think anything of RLM adding to the pile. (Also, I haven't seen the movie. The bad reviews have put me off and we have too many streaming services already to bother with HBO Max,)

RLM's treatment of superhero blockbusters over the last five years has often leaned negative to my memory. Or they will disagree. Jay didn't like "Joker", I remember. And one of them (can't remember who) didn't like "Civil War", while all of the geek channels were raving about it. And then there's their mostly negatives takes on new "Star Wars" movies.
