Gee, it's almost as if that could have been explained more politely much earlier so that people knew about it, and it would get more people into it because it's Brad helping out a friend. But no, he had to go this route and alienate people. Also, just playing an ad makes it look like they sponsered him.

nah, It's way more effective when you create a show only for your hardcore fans that come to hear how you bitch about casuals. You don't need any more views than those from your core audience, because they are the only who pay on patreon. I'm getting a vibe that he does it specifically to create a positive feedback loop, so when people would bitch about it in the comments he can cherry pick something petty from the comments for the next shows opening and so on.
I'm amazed any of them didn't go the route of a patreon exclusive show yet. Sure some make bonus patreon content, but none (from those who I know) decided yet to create a whole show only for patreon contributors.
