Well, you would be wrong. Interacting with normal people, and not other e-celebs, on a regular basis probably would have kept him grounded. Most of the e-celebs who are total assholes never interact with anyone who isn't an e-celeb (ex: TotalCorpse) or anyone at all (ex: MovieBlob)

I think I remember this from 2.0, but didn't Jared used to have a proper 9-to-5 job, and he'd do videos on the side? This is probably why he's become such an asshole, assuming he wasn't one already, by doing videos full time he's lost a lot of human interaction that he would be getting if he'd kept the job and just did videos as a hobby

It's not really new, we all seen this with rockstars, actors etc. but it's not that easy. People are saying NPD (narcissistic personality disorder) is on the rise here and it's not surprising if you realize that a toxic individualism has it's grip on the western world.
