Edit: now I look on imdb and apparently Frank Welker plays Scooby Doo in this. I know for the last few years Frank played Scooby Doo, but ffs Zac Efron? It's one of those gotta put Celebrities into our movies just to make it relevant or get more people to see it.

Out of all of the voice actors from the OG show, the only ones mainstream people would even know would be Casey Kasem and maybe Frank Welker. The former because he was out right murdered and as far as I can remember Frank's the only one alive, which is sad.

Also this sucks because we had What's new and Mystery Incorporated. Scooby Doo's been rebooted so much, especially in the last decade.

You had that CN tv movie that no one but me remembers, Incorporated, that Scooby Doo puppet direct to DVD whizz, that Brickleberry (which also sucks) looking one Stay Cool, Lego I think?

And also this movie is like the original show in that it's going to be (out)dated. The animation, jokes, pop culture references and time piece music are mostly staples of Scooby Doo.

It's fascinating how often they keep trying to reboot this IP. This is like the Dark Universe of cartoons. Did the original show helped everyone through dark times or something?

They did the same thing to the guy who played Launchpad in DuckTales; they recast for the reboot and didn't even let him audition for it. I've heard that cartoons now hire people based on how many Twitter followers they have rather than who would be best for the role. I've seen clips from the new DuckTales and all the characters sound terrible. The kids all have adult voices, too. It's really annoying.

I fear this is just a logical escalation of the cartoon industry's fucked-up state. There are like entire animation studios out there filled with people hired for their tumblr posts. It was only a matter of time before they would hire VAs using the same strategy.

I didn't even know she did Velma in the direct to video movies in the mid 2000s. I always assumed after the original Scooby Doo run she never voiced the character against just like the second actress for Daphne. I just found out that North did the same as her. I wonder why they were hired for the direct to video movies during that time but not for the TV show What's new Scooby Doo that was running during the same time? Both Welker and Kasem reprised their roles for the show.

I pirated Scoob, just because I hadn't watched Scooby Doo since a kid and was curious.

It was a piece of shit. The story is mostly about the Blue Falcon's emo kid trying to step into his father's shoes. There's no mystery and the Scooby gang are separated for most of it as Shaggy and Doo go play cape shit with Blue Falcon and Strong Black Female character, and Asian Dyno-Mutt (Ken Jeong). Velma, Daphne and Fred hardly do anything. Tracy Morgan plays Capt. Caveman (finally his retard voice works for something) and Simon Cowell plays an arrogant British fag (himself).

Shaggy and Scooby have a cliche third act break-up, Fred's waifu is the van, Daphne does nothing, Velma (I kid you not) as a kid dresses up as Ruth Bader Ginsburg for Halloween, and
