Re: Doge Walker and Channel Awesome
Those GI Joe and Transformers commercials were masterpieces in advertising and it's a crying shame Hasbro didn't preserve them. These YouTubers' copies are the only ones known to exist.

Holy shit Doge is talking about something from his childhood. I thought he just did crappy recreations of recent films.
Re: Doge Walker and Channel Awesome
Kinda surprised it took him this long to review the real G.I. Joe movie. The last live-action version was like four years ago.

The only funny thing about Channel Awesome, Doge Walker, and obviously the Nostalgia Critic his how seriously they take themselves. The editorials that Doge puts out aren't bad, but I don't think I've ever seen someone who is as annoying when they are trying to be funny as him.

Oh yes. People like Linkara and Some Jerk With A Camera are the poster boys for treating their kahntent seriously. Mostly cause they're smug, stuck up pricks that are sheltered and don't have a grasp of reality.Vega wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2017 7:54 pmThe only funny thing about Channel Awesome, Doge Walker, and obviously the Nostalgia Critic his how seriously they take themselves. Re: Doge Walker and Channel Awesome
He'll probably rush a review out for the new star wars within a week of its theater release. He might even put something up on release day. Maybe a midnight release upload.
I guess Doge is doing what he needs to stay relevant. Lord knows nobody gives a fuck about his "nostalgic" quality content now. He can either chase the Jeremy Jahns market or go work a real job.
It took him long enough, but he, unlike DSP, FINALLY learned some things. He learned that youtube was the way to go and to ditch his shitty website and proprietary video hosting, and he learned to stop reviewing old shit nobody cares about. This isn't 2008 and people have too many alternatives for entertainment product reviewers.
I can't give Doge too much credit though. He was several years late on the youtube trend and only made the switch when forced. Joe was the one who deserved credit for migrating early. Joe has the money he has now because of those vidya gaem reviews + making the move to youtube at the right time. Now he's going to piss it all away chasing Twitch, which is profitable in the short term, but somewhat unstable since it relies heavily on direct fan funding and microdonations. Also, he's making his content worse, which is never positive for one's business.
Joe could have been that guy like Yahtzee who cements himself in a fucking niche and dominates that shit for 10-20 years. I don't know what money Yahtzee makes these days, but it's obviously still "enough" to meet his needs. His videos arguably haven't changed at all from the type of shit that gave him his popularity in the first place. I guess that's like Coke not changing their core recipe when all the customers are still rushing to buy it.

Doge could never work a real job again. I wouldn't be surprised to hear he's been black listed after his little "I quit" stunt.
