Bugmen can't die. They were never alive.

They can be purged and perish, though. Sadly, that particular one is still functional.

The WorldCuckBullshit fatass called them "the modern mythos" more than once. I hope he's dead now.
Just like how Linkara calles the comics the new Greek mythology or something.

This is an old, and very common, pseudo-intellectual bugman talking point, wherein they try really hard to spin how the low-brow entertainment crap they consume is actually very profound and full of meaning, and how only a sophisticated mind can fully appreciate them. I mean, the majority of the "video-essay" genre is pretty much that.

The comparison of comics/superheroes to mythology is a particularly pervasive and especially retarded point. One only a remarkably ignorant nitwit could try to make.

And it's just plain not true. Even your average bugman that has watched all the Marlel shit couldn't remember the plot of most of them. Mythology has been remembered for thousands of years, capeshit is watched on a Monday and forgotten by Friday.

Also remember that time Heracles fought the Hydra for the 1,242th time?

You'd think a gay would be more invested in Greek culture.

Spawn's CGI was on par with Black Penis's.
True, but if you want the real Spawn experience watch the animated series.

Also how the fuck was Danny DeVito not the violator? It’s a role he was born to play.

Either too expensive, or either the film crew or Danny's manager thought he should stick to more family-friendly content.

True, but its not simply that.
Old myths were intimately tied to cultures, peoples, and values. They were lived daily, and held much spiritual and historical significance. They shaped and reflected the identities and morals of the places/peoples who originated them, and were fundamentally organic, present and consequentially long-lasting. They weren't just "cool stories"; they were tied to law, and even explained/showcased the connections between the physical and spiritual worlds to the people who believed in them, in a very tangible way. Greeks, Nordics, Romans, and all other Pagans lived those stories.

Superheroes/comics are for-profit, corporate-made intellectual properties, owned by soulless multinational entertainment companies. They are as hollow and shallow as can be. Any meaning to be found therein is incidental and ephemeral at best. To the extent that such characters/stories reflect any values, it's only in a way as to try shaping the audience into even more non-discerning bugman, whose ultimate sacrament is "consume product, then get excited for next product".

Saying that superheroes are "new Mythology" is like saying the chicken-McNugget is the new Eucharist, only dumber.

On a related side note, this mainstream superhero fad can't die soon enough!
