I really like the premise behind Clerks, but hate the execution. These people aren't likeable in the least, and real people don't talk like that. I struggle to think of what his "best" movie is, because they're all pretty mediocre.
Likely Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
Clerks is fucking shit. I hated every second of it.

Dante's whining made me wanna an hero. To see a 22-year-old manchild cry like that was absolute torture. What did you hate about the movie?
Brad has said that the new movie is his most successful yet. I really doubt that's true. His views are as low as they've ever been, and I haven't seen any discussion of it outside here (there's not even a TV Tropes page; a pretty sure sign that even the autists are abandoning him).
Even with the embezzling Brad probably took a heavy loss.
If true, then it's because he spent even less money on it this time, so even a minuscule profit is still ten times as much as it cost to make.
How many times can a nobody make a shitty movie about themselves and film half the scenes in their god damn living room. Say what you want about James Rolfe's movie, at least he didn't film the whole thing in his basement and cast Mike Matei or the movie review fatties as main characters. He got actual actors, not fucking Tamara and the Walkers.
If his popularity keeps dwindling, then hopefully not many more times. Still using the same dull surroundings as always eh? Get a fucking green screen Brad if you're to much of a cheapskate to invest in a new location. Even if the chroma keying turns out shitty, it would at least break up the monotony of seeing the same damn interior you've already used in a hundred videos.
All the characters and the tryhard writing for them and the story. Especially goofy shit like the nicotine chewing gum guy or whatever that was.
And the fucking basic bitch geek talk. It was >muh Soy Wars and >muh cummics all the time. It's disgusting pandering.

Yeah, the gum guy scene was awful.
Only part I laughed at was when Randal was on the phone with the video distributor and started naming off all the porno titles in front of some woman and her kid. The rest of Clerks was a laugh-free affair for me. And Kevin outright stole a scene from Weekend At Bernie's. For some reason, no one talks about that.

Kevin Smith never made good movies (although according to him the script for Chasing Amy got him legitimate writing work). His appeal was that he was your Average Joe fat nerd who somehow got to peak under the tent of Hollywood with that one amateur film. That one film got him a career as a director, a chance to write comics (which he'd still be doing if he wasn't too lazy to actually finish his projects) and a guest spot on Law & Order amongst other things.
The 90s were stuff full of generic slop that something "different" from Coronary Smith was the only reason it gained any traction. Look what he followed it up with. Fucking Mallrats, a generic romcom with random comic book references. Chasing Amy only had one good part. That was Smith's ability to predict Twitter Arguments with the copy and paste -white men bad- dialog from the pozzed up black guy.
