Re: Marzcunt: Queen of Hashtags (and fabricated outrage)
I'm pretty sure at least ANN can't get away is muh allegedly because they knew some of those allegations didn't even exist or factually incorrect. They should have at least retracted the article when some of the "alleged victims" spoke out but it's too late.
As a side note, IIRC there is a case or something which defends journalists but those Kickvic tards are so immature and retarded they didn't even try to investigate the allegations (or just reported those allegations as proven facts), it's pretty much irrelevant.

Well, they wouldn't have been able to fully verify anything on their own, but it seems like they didn't do one whip stitch of legwork, and just regurgitated everything as told to them, assuming it was true, and trusting their readership to do the same. It just feels slimy that they could do that, but avoid any possible repercussions from it by just throwing up their hands and saying "Well, we didn't say it WAS true, just that that's what we heard lalala".
I'm doing a bit of layman legalese Google Fu on the topic, and I've come across the term "actual malice". From a 1964 ruling involving the New York Times, emphasis mine:

The term "public official" is in that quote, but the concept also applies to "public figures" seeking damages for defamation, and I'm pretty sure Vic would qualify as a public figure. So hey... still sure as fuck not a lawyer over here, but there's somethin'.The constitutional guarantees require, we think, a Federal rule that prohibits a public official from recovering damages for a defamatory falsehood relating to his official conduct unless he proves that the statement was made with 'actual malice'—that is, with knowledge that it was false or with reckless disregard of whether it was false or not.

Why do people keep falling for that obvious trolling bait about Marchi's "husband" and Ron Toye being higher ups at Funi? That obviously isn't real and people look stupid when they think they found some 'ah-ha!' discovery. Toye works in mortgage and I doubt Marchi is married. Who the fuck would want to marry her, let's be real.

>E-lawyers
He's just going to ignore that rekeita brought up that if Funi had just said "we are no longer working with Vic" they would be fine? And that the issue is that they were public about doing an investigation and said in their statement that "we don't tolerate harassment of any kind"? Get fucked, he specifically said rooster teeth are probably fine.
