So if some question jogs her memory to a previous question and her mind starts racing, she starts freaking out, she has to keep answering questions. Depositions can take hours. The thing you are missing here is someone can be wrong, testify to something that is wrong and yet still believe what they're saying.

We don't convict witnesses of perjury when they testify to something that's wrong which they believe to be true. As long as the people testifying aren't revealed to KNOW they are telling lies, they'll be fine.
