I don't really see Lupa as a lesbian, but I do think her and Phelan's relationship is pretty one sided because (at least to me) it feels like she's still waiting to get together with somebody "better".
As a selfish drama queen she thinks she deserves only the best, while Phelan is being probably more realistic.
