Plenty of people do that even with 9 to 5 regular jobs. Yeah, the result can be a quite amateurish most of the times, but with time, patience and creativity, you can do good stuff. And she does know people that can handle the most techincal aspects of movie making, like grips and people to handle lightning. She won't have theatrical release quality, but independent film making is all about imagination to overcome limitations.
And she has good money that she can delegate a bunch of the grunt work of her videos to other, which she does already, because I remember her eraly videos, and they were edited like shit, and I feel like she can write her shallow and pedantic pop culture observations on her sleep, so if anyone has the tools and oportunity to go into filmmaking, it's her...
Because much like the rest of these nobodies, she has no interest in actually making the things, just having the final result. Her first creative work was the documentary, a school project. The second was that Cthulu Twilight book that had twenty different unpaid writers on it, she just made a vague outline and edited it into something vaguely coherent. And that's it. That is her entire creative body of work.
Meanwhile you have Doge Walker who was the entire foundation of her career who has three feature length productions, a bunch of short specials and even Demo Reel to his name. He has accomplished more than she ever has and he hasn't done shit in the last six years. And he only stopped because he realised how much he actually sucked, but until then he put in a level of work that Lindsay, Allison, Bob and all the other whiners have never managed to put out in their lives.
Yes the anniversary specials sucked, and so did the AT4W movie and Brad's shit. But that's still more effort than anyone else has produced.
