I just don't understand what the point is of this faggot over-emphasizing how poor and destitute he is.

It's all part of the "Give me money or I. Will. DIE." narrative that professional e-beggers love so much.

Though what's especially troublesome with this guy (and his totally real gf) is that he doesn't even pretend to have an exit strategy. He's not going "Please give me money until I can find a new job (which will happen never but I'll better not bring that up)", it's just always "I can't survive on my own, please give me money until the day that I die".
