I've assumed he moved out because he wanted to - clearly a wrong assumption, thinking that he would ever want to do anything on his own.

He quit the job his father pretty much hand-delivered to him, he didn't want to do anything with his degree because that seemed difficult and he even got shitcanned by that magazine he was writing for.
So to try and force him to get his shit in order they kicked him out, hoping that he'd do something out of necessity.

He then leeched of his brother for ages instead. Even when he actually made money, he was not welcome to family gatherings, likely because King Spoony was resentful for being forced into action and a complete cunt.

Being a prick and doing nothing have always been his signature moves. Whenever the slightest difficulty arose, he opted to do nothing.

Keep the job he was given?
Improve his writing?
Step up to not lose his gf (twice)?
Upload regularly to TGWTG?
Moderate his forum?
Maintain his website?
Meet Brad for videos?
Make the movie?
Play cards with patrons?
Make the DVD?

Try to keep his house?
Go to court?
Absolutely every time any drive or action on his part was required, he just did nothing instead. Any amount of effort people put into him to get him to do stuff is ultimately wasted. He'll even resent you for it. I bet his parents fully realized that by the time he was in his 20s.

Now that you mention it, I vaguely remember him talking something about not getting invited to family gatherings, yes... eh, can't blame my brain for not storing information about some internet bozo. Then again, with this shitter, you really can't take anything he says seriously - maybe they try to invite him, but he refuses every time, like the ungrateful piece of shit he is.

If his family is, unlike him, normal and stable, they would certainly accept him on some special family gathering. Because he might be a complete loser, but he's not dangerous in any way. I can imagine his sister showing him to her grand kids in the future (because she's supposed to be like 5 years older or something?) like: "Children, this is creepy uncle Noah. If you don't study and be naughty little shits, you will end up like him!"

Yeah, I watched the prequels first and I don't remember having any trouble with it, even though Revenge Of The Sith wasn't even out yet and I skipped from Attack Of The Clones to A New Hope. I actually have a memory of asking my mother who Darth Vader was, she told me, and I just went with it without further questions. Probably cause the last I saw of Anakin was him killing Tusken Raiders!

All the politics and romancing I just chalked up to 'stuff that adults get up to' in-between lightsaber duels.

Reminds me of when I watched "300" with various people who all loved it a whole lot, yet all of them would just fast-forward through all the scenes where the stupid boring queen just talks to people.

I've been in with a group for a short while once that did a whole lotta Star Wars cosplay on events and such and I can tell you, the little kids loved no one as much as the guy dressed up as Darth Maul.
You know, a total non-character who doesn't even talk (until maybe the faggy EU that's decanonized anyway gave him more backstory I guess?)
That right there explained it all to me.

Regardless, Noah is probably the guy who thinks the original trilogy is some kind of high art or as was said before, it really is that he thinks no one should experience things in any other different way than he did.

Star Wars at its best had 2 good movies. I prefer the og over empire tbh. It was (not shitty) popcorn action and that's all it needed to be. The '80s was full of those kinds of movies. Tron, The Last Starfighter, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Conan, Highlander etc. Feel-good fantasy/science fantasy action films where the hero kills a bad guy and gets the girl. Simple movies that provided simple fun. Star Wars as a franchise is probably one of the most overrated series of all time. 9 films, and all are bad except the first two. The prequels, depending where you sit, are either bad or extremely mediocre.

I really wish Tron had a sequel worth a damn.

The problem he has is that he substituted pop culture shit like Star Wars and DND in where his personality should have been. Even "good Spoony" was basically just stringing references to other shit over whatever he was critiquing. So many of the TGWTG crew relied upon this, which is why most of them are miserable fucks these days. The pop culture changes and leaves them behind, and they can't hack it anymore.
