I remember there was one creator (Made a cartoon I think) who talked about how one day he realised how bad social media was for his head and so quit and afterwards felt so much better. He encouraged others who felt shit to do likewise and get off the web because it was just feeding into their negativity. The problem is most of these people are addicted to the constant feed and need it to fill their empty lives.

Responsible people use social media to build a platform and connect with people. I follow a lot of writers and publishing professionals. Yeah, they can get silly and political at times, but for the most part, they use it to talk with writers and readers, promote new works, and warn others of publishing/agent predators.

I could do without the histrionic unpublished writers who feel like their hearts got ripped out after a rejection, though. And the forced postivity and pep talks.
