Becoming a fan of someone and getting overly attached over it is a massive issue to begin with - I couldn't understand how somebody can become a fanboy of Spoony just as I can't grasp how can millions worship a corporation like Apple. I'm a fan of black humor (which we've had plenty on DHI with our upcoming comedy stars Negro & Rapey - or Rapey Negro, but doesn't tell you it's a duo), but that's a concept, nothing specific.

When it comes to creative media - I like a lot of video games, movies, bands etc. - but if some of my favourites were to suddenly disappear, it wouldn't have impact on my life. Getting cut off from internet would be another thing

I keep forgetting that you were part of the SOK "movement", so you are a lost cause, but everybody else should always try to sperge in moderation.

The forum on spoonyexperiment.com are down. I've known for sometime that this day would come. This could be the end of a fairly interesting online community. It's sad.

I first discovered Spoony though his Ultima retrospective in 2014 and joined his forums because he disabled comments on his youtube channel.

Contrary to whatever impressions members of this reddit sub may think, there was relatively little discussion of Spoony. Some of his fans from the peak of his popularity stayed on the forum and went on with their lives, discussing a variety of topics from video games, movies, and television.

And now, POOF. It's all gone.

I'll miss some of the posters and moderators. They are good people and deserved better.

As someone who lurked that forum since 2008. The forum was shittier than Reddit, DHI and lowcow and 4chan combined. You could not discuss anything beyond blindly worshiping Spoony.

Even commenting on objective fact like Spoony being banned from Twitter and several fanboys would deny reality and accuse you of lying/nazi/alt-right etc. It was ridiculous, The Spoony Experiment forum was to his obsessed fanbase as Twitter was to the Spoonyone. For there own good it had to go, I've never seen such a collection of delusional obsessed idiots in my entire life.

Same thing with Joe's forum, autistic zoomers still crawling around in it.

They don't need that forum anymore. These days, Discord is where it's at for the most autistic underhive of the internet to meet and enable each other. Those servers are worse places than even /b/ or SA ever were.

The good thing about Spoony's forum was that you needed an account to simply view it. This means archive.org wasn't able to ever crawl it and back it up so all of that shit is rightfully lost forever now.
