Gunpowder weapons are treated as Touch Attacks when you're too close to them, which ignores the Armor Bonus. And Lightsabers cause you to cut yourself on a Fumble and have a built-in Attack Penalty (since it's tricky to use a weapon that makes it so easy to cut your own limbs off), and you have to waste one of your precious Feats on Exotic Weapon Proficiency if you don't want the regular -4 Attack Penalty for untrained usage on top of that.

And pole arms were broken af. For most of human history, it was basically impossible to create and maintain a mighty empire without a shitload of dudes wielding pointed sticks of some sort. Shit was god tier.

Those came later with the AD&D revision and armour values worked differently at that time.

TOBE FAIR, the 2010 version of MLP was meant for little girls. It just happened to hire artists that use to work on shows like Powerpuff Girls or Ed, Edd, n Eddy, so it ended up being better than the usual MLP shit. Attracting autist like Rushy was just an unfortunate side effect.
