That's pretty much all he's trying to do here. He's been engaging in these woe is me pity parties for years now, typically at the end of the month to get some of his dwindling fans to keep giving him money. He's pathetic and manipulative that way, his bitching means nothing since he never does anything about it and is instead rather content to be broke as fuck all the time and getting money from family/donors that use sources other than patreon. That's been spoony's shtick for years now: whining about knowing that he sucks, never doing anything about it, then switching to tweeting nonsense about Trump/wrestling/comic books, or reviewing games through tweets instead of talking at a camera for 4 minutes and uploading that as a bare bones low effort v-log review. He's pathetic but he likes being pathetic, and he thrives on people pitying him and giving him money just cause they feel so bad for the loser that he's become.

I don't feel bad for him, I feel bad for his family, they must hate having to give him some of their money to keep him from being homeless. The parents especially, instead of enjoying their retirement funds by doing old people shit, they have to finance their loser failure to launch son who should've been abandoned in a dumpster the minute he was born. It's a shame he's not dead yet, he's such a waste of space. When that whole angry reviewing stuff was really popular on YT, all of the people that made videos interacted with one another or acknowledged each other in one way or another. Even Armake, who was the most popular one that wasn't James Rolfe, did. James left soon for Game Trailers and thus didn't really have anything to do with the YT people. But besides that, it was very much a community.
Only two were ever not part of that in any way, despite YT being their main gig. Those two were Chris Bores and fucking Noah.
Spoon used to have some charisma in his videos, as opposed to Bores. But otherwise he was always an aloof dickhead that wouldn't interact with anyone outside of his draconian website forum hugbox. People may come to kiss his ass but no other input or feedback was ever appreciated by him. Everyone else was nothing but peasantry to him.

This is also why the rest of them are carrying around so much baggage and resentment. I've said this before, but damn near every single one of them only ever saw the angry reviewing schtick as something that would lead to their big breaks, and attached themselves to the biggest coattails they could find. This is why they have so much contempt for their audiences, Spoony being the most flagrant about it; they resent the everloving hell out of the fact that there are no Hollywood talent scouts among them, just wall-to-wall spergs. They were always making this type of content in spite of the people who consumed it, never for them.

Notice how the only ones who don't seem to be seething about this kind of shit are the ones who have accepted the role for what it is. When was the last time DHI breathed a cross word about Doug's behavior or demeanor, despite it being near unanimous that his videos are intolerable? None of the others will ever admit to it outright, except perhaps through that infuriating brand of "I'm saying what I actually mean sarcastically, so you're not allowed to call me on it, even though it is actually what I mean", but I guarantee that they're all not only lamenting that, but questioning why they're not actual, real movies stars by now. That's how this was supposed to go, wasn't it?
