People will wonder in five years why no young people are having kids. With two big student loan debts, housing bubbles, shitty job market and continued job exportation/labor importation, who can afford kids?

don't people already kinda wonder that? don't forget government subsidies actually profiting poor people for having more kids and punishing middle class people for having a kid.

The middle class are those that are fucked over every time. They love to talk about how bad it is that there are more and more poor people and how the gap between rich and poor gets larger, yet they do everything to turn more and more of the middle class into poor people by making them pay for those already poor.
They've done it for decades and still wonder about their shit not working.

It's not just that, but the way the market is shifting. Specifically, in the labour demand.

Back when the western world moved from a farming based economy to an industrial economy, there were still enough jobs to go around because the factories still required a manual production system. Right now we're in the transition into a digital economy... except that there aren't as many jobs available in such a world. In a global economy, you can just shift factories over to Asia and save massive bucks, or automate whatever you can. Why pay minimum wages when you can pay even less than that?

There's a movement on tumblr about how going into big chains like K-Mart or Target and stealing shit is good because you're only hurting a big industry and it's morally righteous. Except you aren't. No executive is going to give up his money if he doesn't have to. Instead it's the manager who gets the blame for lost stock and loses their job, which is usually underpaid for the amount of work they have to do. The rich want as much money as they can get and if a poor person can't feed his kids because of that, so be it.
