Nah, he was always obsessed with shit and honestly, he's known for not playing through the games, rather just showing you his overacted initial impressions, the problem with these reviews are that it's just more of the same, he doesn't have the same passion and motivation like he used to, so it comes out of as forced stale old crap.
Of course he was obsessed with shit in his earlier videos but I could get past that because at least there was a passion and earnestness to it. The whole shit puns feel very self referential, that they keep referencing them time and time again because it’s an AVGN video and talking about shit was what he does.
Not that I have calculated it but I’d probably say AVGN actually saw the ending of the preponderate of games played and if he didn’t then the video at least was engaging. He generally ended on a high note- a difficult section and had that be the punchline, rather than a simple “eh this game sucks I can’t be bothered anymore”

I watched a bit at the beginning, I get that it's supposedly comedy show, but he already got simple facts wrong. CD32 didn't kill Commodore, it was already in the grave, but actually CD32 might have saved C= if they could've manufactured more, as there was demand for it. They didn't have money to manufacture more as no one was willing to loan them the money.
