I'm not saying it's impossible, but I'm very suspicious that Lupa didn't know about JW and wasn't just covering for JW at the time.

I don't think Lupa really "covered" for JW, I just think she didn't believe Mantis's story when she originally heard it. Mantis was an annoying, loose woman with major alcohol problems so she wasn't credible as an assault victim (which is probably why JW went after her). She was also taking Brad's cock in every hole, which likely caused big jealousy between the two.
Lupa only posted the story in her Google Doc because she thought it would help the CTC push. She is such a narcissist she believed an actual rape was on par with her being butthurt over Applebee's. Then it blew up when that became the thing everyone cared about.

I remember something way back when JW was still alive about a fan anonymously posting on Fandom Confessions about him being inappropriate and creepy with some young fans and there being a minor reeeeestorm over it. It was so long ago and on live journal no less I don’t know if it’d be worth the time to find.

I also think that reeeing was also coming from Secret Treehouse people too. JW was pretty friendly with a lot of those girls . I was told he used to get on Skype calls and group chats with them frequently.
